Christ Church
Dear people of God, I hope your week has been good, and please find attached YWOW for the 5th Sunday of Easter.
Thank you to Viv Grunner for organising the Sunday lunch at the golf club as a fundraising social for the church hall, and thanks to everyone who enjoyed a lovely lunch!
Please note it is St Matthew's coffee morning this Friday, 10.00am until 12 noon, everyone is welcome, please come and bring a friend. Thank you to the wonderful team that brings this together for us all to enjoy.
We are starting a new informal service called "Cafe Church - Open Table". It's informal, with refreshments, and is welcoming and inclusive. We'll run the service on the 2nd Sunday of the month, 4.00pm in the Church Hall. Our first service is "Blessing of Animals". Everyone from across the Benefice is welcome. Please think about bringing a friend, it would be suitable for people who'd like to begin to explore matters of faith in a relaxed and easygoing way.
We are also starting a new bible study, based on the series about Jesus, "The Chosen". The Chosen was originally crowd funded,and it tells about the life, teaching, death and resurrection of Jesus, by bringing together the 4 gospel accounts and trying to see Jesus through the eyes of people who knew him well. It looks very interesting and the study material looks very good. Please join me, at the Vicarage, on the Thursdays during July, at 7.00pm. If we're really enjoying the film "The Chosen" and the study guide, then we can arrange more evenings. I hope to see you.
This Sunday we congratulate Hughie-James, who is being baptised at St Michael & All Angels, and Jasper, who is being baptised at Christ Church, we welcome them both into the church.
